You will coordinate with architects, engineers, and local authorities, manage budgets and schedules, and develop marketing strategies for completed developments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Property Development, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of SA property development project management experience.
• Expertise in site analysis, zoning regulations, construction methodologies, and project finance.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with PM software and knowledge of Richards Bay market.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a reputable property development firm, is seeking a results-oriented Property Development Manager to oversee projects within the rapidly growing Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal region. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven ability to manage the entire development lifecycle, from site acquisition and feasibility studies through to construction, marketing, and final handover. You will be instrumental in driving the successful delivery of diverse property developments, ensuring they meet quality standards, budgetary constraints, and timelines. This is a critical on-site role requiring a hands-on approach and strong leadership within the dynamic KwaZulu-Natal property development sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential development sites, conducting feasibility studies and market analyses.
• Manage the acquisition process, including negotiation and legal due diligence for new land purchases.
• Oversee the design and planning phases, coordinating with architects, engineers, and urban planners.
• Manage construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
• Liaise with local authorities and stakeholders to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
• Develop and execute marketing and sales strategies for completed developments.

Requirements

• A degree in Property Development, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in property development project management, with a strong portfolio of completed projects in South Africa .
• Expertise in site analysis, zoning regulations, construction methodologies, and project finance.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and a solid understanding of the Richards Bay and broader KwaZulu-Natal property market.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
