Placements24 is seeking a Real Estate Data Scientist in Sandton, Gauteng. You will design and deploy machine learning models to tackle pricing, market forecasting, and customer segmentation, while handling diverse datasets and building robust data pipelines.

The role requires a strong quantitative background (Masters/PhD) and 5+ years of data science experience, with proficiency in Python or R, SQL, and visualization tools. Real estate data experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science or a related analytical role.
• Proven expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques.
• Proficiency in Python or R with data science libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with SQL and large datasets.
• Strong data visualization skills (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience in real estate data is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy ML models for real estate problems (pricing, forecasting, segmentation).
• Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
• Develop data pipelines and analytical workflows.
• Create data visualizations and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to define data science initiatives.
• Stay current with ML/AI advancements.
• Contribute to knowledge base and best practices.
