Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineer to join our client’s advanced technical team in Queenstown. You will design, deploy, and optimize RAN sites, ensuring high-performance mobile connectivity across the network. A strong background in 4G LTE and 5G NR and experience with RAN planning tools are essential.

You will troubleshoot issues, conduct drive tests, and contribute to ongoing performance improvements while staying abreast of industry trends and technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering (or related field).
• Proven experience as a RAN Engineer or similar role within a mobile network operator.
• Deep knowledge of 4G LTE and 5G NR, including RAN architecture and protocols.
• Experience with RAN planning and optimization tools.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex network data.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage RAN sites and equipment (base stations, antennas).
• Optimize network performance by tuning parameters and analyzing traffic.
• Troubleshoot RAN-related issues to ensure high availability and QoS.
• Conduct drive tests and analyze performance to identify improvements.
• Stay current with new RAN technologies and trends for strategic planning.
