Placements24 in Welkom, Free State, seeks a Radio Network Optimization Engineer to improve coverage, capacity, and QoS through data analysis and strategic tuning of 2G/3G/4G/5G RAN. You will perform drive tests, identify bottlenecks, and drive optimization initiatives with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications and 3–5 years of experience, with proficiency in TEMS, Actix and Atoll.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze radio network performance data to identify areas for improvement in coverage, capacity, and quality.
• Conduct drive tests and measurements to assess network performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Develop and implement tuning and optimization plans for 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G radio access networks.
• Collaborate with planning and deployment teams to ensure new sites meet performance targets.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate regular reports on network health and optimization progress.
• Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in radio network optimization and mobile communications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience in radio network optimization , preferably with major mobile operators.
• Strong understanding of RF principles, propagation models, and cellular network architecture.
• Proficiency with network optimization tools (e.g., TEMS, Actix, Atoll).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in the Free State region.
