Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic food and beverage manufacturer situated in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga , is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician. This role is integral to ensuring that all products manufactured meet stringent quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of quality control processes, laboratory procedures, and regulatory requirements within the food industry. You will be responsible for conducting various tests, inspections, and analyses to uphold the integrity of our products. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine quality control tests and inspections on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
• Conduct laboratory analysis according to established procedures and protocols.
• Ensure that all products meet specified quality and safety standards before release.
• Document test results accurately and maintain detailed records of quality control activities.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable testing.
• Investigate quality deviations and non-conformances, assisting in root cause analysis.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000).
• Monitor production processes for adherence to quality and hygiene standards.
• Participate in internal audits and assist with external regulatory inspections.
• Prepare quality reports and present findings to the Quality Assurance Manager.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and relevant food safety regulations.

Requirements

• A National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
• Proficiency in performing laboratory tests and using analytical equipment.
• Good understanding of quality management systems (e.g., HACCP principles).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with relevant food safety legislation and standards.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications such as MS Office.
• Must be able to work in a production environment in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga and adhere to all site safety and hygiene requirements.
