Placements24 is assisting a well-established food & beverage manufacturer in Pretoria, Gauteng, to hire a Quality Assurance Manager. You will lead the QA team, drive QMS development and ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and regulatory standards across the full product lifecycle.

You will collaborate with R&D and production, implement CAPA actions, maintain documentation and traceability, and champion a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the Pretoria facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.
• Master’s degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a well-established and growing entity in the Food & Beverage manufacturing industry, is seeking a diligent and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead their quality control efforts in **Pretoria, Gauteng**. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's comprehensive quality management system (QMS) in line with relevant industry standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000).
• Oversee all aspects of quality control, including raw material inspection, in-process checks, and finished product analysis.
• Lead and mentor the Quality Assurance team, providing training, guidance, and performance management.
• Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.
• Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure all operations comply with national and international food safety regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with R&D and production teams to ensure quality is integrated into new product development and process improvements.
• Maintain accurate quality records, documentation, and traceability systems.
• Liaise with external regulatory bodies, customers, and suppliers on quality-related matters.
• Champion a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the Food & Beverage manufacturing sector, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000) and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing QMS.
• Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
• Experience with audits (internal and external) and regulatory inspections.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Familiarity with the **Pretoria** food manufacturing landscape is advantageous.
