About the Role

Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialized packaging materials, is seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead their quality control efforts in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal . This critical position involves establishing, maintaining, and improving the company's quality management system to ensure all products meet rigorous industry standards and customer specifications. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving a culture of quality throughout the organization, minimizing defects, and enhancing customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Oversee all quality control activities, including inspection, testing, and process monitoring of raw materials and finished goods.
• Lead and mentor the Quality Assurance team, providing direction and fostering professional development.
• Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues, implementing root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards for packaging materials.
• Conduct internal audits and supplier audits to ensure quality and compliance.
• Collaborate with R&D and Production departments to ensure new products meet quality standards from the outset.
• Analyze quality data and generate reports for senior management, highlighting trends and areas for improvement in Durban.
• Promote a quality-first culture across all departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of QMS principles, statistical process control (SPC), and quality tools.
• Experience with ISO 9001 certification and auditing is essential.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage teams and drive continuous improvement.
• Experience in the packaging or related Manufacturing & Production industry is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements relevant to packaging materials.
