Placements24 is supporting an established charity in Port Elizabeth by sourcing a Program Development Officer who will conceptualize, design, and launch new initiatives addressing community needs. You will identify opportunities, conduct feasibility studies, and develop robust proposals aligned with strategic goals and funding opportunities.

The role requires strong research and planning capabilities, plus a track record in non-profit program design.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in program design, development, or management in the non-profit sector.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent proposal writing and project planning capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work creatively and strategically.
• Familiarity with the social service landscape in Port Elizabeth.
• Bachelor's degree in social sciences, public administration, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify emerging community needs and social issues.
• Conceptualize, design, and develop new program initiatives from inception to implementation planning.
• Conduct feasibility studies and needs assessments for proposed programs.
• Develop detailed program proposals, including budgets, work plans, and logic models.
• Build partnerships with community stakeholders and other organizations for program collaboration.
• Monitor the initial phases of new programs to ensure successful launch and alignment with objectives.
