Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Development Project Officer to lead and implement community development initiatives in Upington, Northern Cape. You will oversee project lifecycle from planning to evaluation, coordinating with local stakeholders and teams.

The role emphasizes strong organizational and communication skills, plus experience in the non-profit sector to drive social impact and accountability for donors and communities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in project management, preferably within the development or non-profit sector.
• Strong understanding of community development principles and practices.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage the planning, implementation, and oversight of community development projects.
• Develop project proposals, budgets, and work plans in collaboration with relevant teams.
• Monitor project progress, identify challenges, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Engage with community members and local stakeholders to ensure project relevance and participation.
• Prepare detailed project reports on activities, outputs, and outcomes for stakeholders and donors.
• Ensure compliance with project guidelines, ethical standards, and grant requirements.
