Job summary

Aeciminingchemicals in Sasolburg seeks a Production Superintendent to lead the CS2, Xanthates and other manufacturing operations. You will ensure safety, reliability, efficiency, and compliance with customer requirements, while guiding day-to-day production performance and shift handovers.

Qualifications

• Must hold a chemical/processing engineering degree or equivalent.
• Postgraduate qualification in Business Administration or Operations Management is advantageous.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in chemical/manufacturing environments.
• Minimum 3 years’ management or production leadership experience.
• Proficient in MS Office and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Manage the production process and ensure targets are met safely and on time.
• Ensure materials, labour, equipment and utilities are ready for the plan.
• Coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering for equipment availability.
• Provide leadership, coaching and development of production teams.
• Optimize capacity, throughput, and production efficiency while minimising waste.
• Maintain strong SHEQ, OHS compliance and safety culture.
• Ensure SOPs and permits are followed and safety controls are in place.
• Monitor processes and address deviations and abnormal conditions.
• Ensure products meet quality specifications and minimise off-spec work.
• Coordinate production planning, campaigns, changeovers and transitions.
• Collaborate with Quality, Laboratory, Process Eng, Maintenance, Planning and Supply Chain.
• Lead or participate in risk assessments, HAZOPs and incident investigations.
• Maintain production records and effective shift handovers.
• Monitor KPIs across safety, production, quality, reliability, cost and people.
• Control production-related expenditure including raw materials and utilities.
• Support shutdowns, maintenance activities and CAPEX projects.
• Drive continuous improvement and world-class manufacturing practices.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised production environment.
• Plan shift rosters and coordinate activities across shifts.
