Job summary

Placements24 in Sandton is seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to lead production operations during assigned shifts. You will guide a team, ensure targets are met, and uphold safety and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate has a strong leadership background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement across production processes. This role requires flexibility to work varying shifts and a commitment to safety and SOP

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a relevant technical qualification or tertiary education is advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and quality control principles.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to shift work.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications.
• A strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to procedures.
• Experience in the FMCG or automotive components sector is a plus.
• Must reside in or be able to commute to Sandton, Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of production teams during assigned shifts.
• Ensure production targets are met in terms of quantity, quality, and timeliness.
• Monitor production processes and equipment, addressing any issues promptly.
• Enforce all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the production area.
• Train, mentor, and motivate production staff to achieve optimal performance.
• Manage shift resources, including personnel and materials, effectively.
• Maintain accurate production records and reports for management review.
• Conduct daily production meetings to brief the team on objectives and challenges.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control protocols.
