Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Production Shift Manager for our East London, Eastern Cape facility. The role oversees a production shift, ensuring safe, efficient operation and quality standards while guiding a team of operators and technicians.

You will lead on process monitoring, address deviations, and drive continuous improvement. A relevant engineering or operations degree is preferred, with 4+ years in production and 2+ years in supervision.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a production environment with supervisory experience.
• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Operations Management or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations for South Africa manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Based in East London or able to commute.
• Ability to manage and motivate a team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise production activities during a shift to meet targets.
• Lead and support operators and technicians.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Monitor processes and address deviations or breakdowns.
• Maintain accurate records of output, quality checks, and incidents.
• Enforce company policies for production operations.
• Coordinate with other shift managers for smooth handover.
• Participate in continuous improvement to reduce waste.
• Conduct regular team briefings and provide feedback.
