Job description

Our client is seeking a dedicated Production Engineer to join their team in Richards Bay . This role focuses on optimizing the production of oil and gas from existing wells and facilities, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance. You will analyze production data, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement strategies to maximize hydrocarbon recovery. Working closely with operations and reservoir teams, you will play a vital part in the day-to-day success of our client's production activities within the Oil & Gas sector , driving performance and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze production performance data from wells and facilities.
• Identify opportunities for production optimization and implement appropriate solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to artificial lift, surface facilities, and flow assurance.
• Develop and manage workover and intervention programs to enhance recovery.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations, environmental policies, and operational best practices.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers to ensure production strategies align with field development plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Production Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry .
• Strong understanding of artificial lift systems (ESPs, rod pumps, gas lift).
• Proficiency in production software and data analysis tools.
• Experience with surface facility operations and flow assurance principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
