You will collaborate with operations and reservoir engineers to ensure safe, efficient production plans and contribute to revenue streams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant petroleum engineering field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in oil and gas production engineering.
• Strong understanding of artificial lift systems and production optimization techniques.
• Proficiency in production data analysis and Excel for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily production performance of wells and facilities, identifying deviations from expected parameters.
• Analyze production data to diagnose issues such as artificial lift failures, scaling, or formation damage.
• Recommend and implement production enhancement techniques including artificial lift optimization and stimulation.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineering to align production plans with reservoir management objectives.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations related to production operations.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Production Engineer to optimize hydrocarbon production from existing fields in the Vereeniging area. This role involves monitoring well performance, diagnosing production issues, and implementing solutions to maximize output and efficiency within the Oil & Gas operations. You will work closely with operations teams and reservoir engineers to ensure wells are producing optimally and safely, contributing directly to the company's revenue streams. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and practical problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor daily production performance of wells and facilities, identifying any deviations from expected parameters.
• Analyze production data to diagnose issues such as artificial lift failures, scaling, or formation damage.
• Recommend and implement appropriate production enhancement techniques, including artificial lift optimization and stimulation treatments.
• Collaborate with the reservoir engineering team to ensure production plans align with reservoir management objectives.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations related to production operations.
• Prepare production forecasts, reports, and economic evaluations for production-related projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in oil and gas production engineering.
• Strong understanding of artificial lift systems (e.g., ESP, rod pumps, gas lift) and production optimization techniques.
• Proficiency in production data analysis software and Microsoft Excel for analysis and reporting.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to effectively troubleshoot operational problems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
