Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Production Chemist to monitor and optimize chemical processes in Midrand, Gauteng. You will ensure product quality and troubleshoot issues in an on-site lab and plant setting.

Requirements include a Bachelor's/Master's in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and 4+ years in production chemistry, with GC, HPLC, spectroscopy, and titrations experience. SPC knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in production or process chemistry, preferably in Oil & Gas or petrochemical.
• Strong knowledge of GC, HPLC, spectroscopy and titrations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize chemical processes for yield and quality.
• Analyze raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
• Troubleshoot deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and validate analytical methods and procedures.
• Collaborate with process engineers and operators on improvements.
• Maintain laboratory records and prepare performance reports.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental compliance in lab and plant.
• Manage laboratory inventory and ensure equipment functionality.
• Participate in process hazard analyses and safety reviews.
• Provide technical guidance on chemical aspects to production teams.
