Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Process Engineer for its Midrand, Gauteng facility to optimize chemical manufacturing processes, enhance safety, efficiency and product quality. You will design processes, scale up from lab to pilot to full production, validate changes, and drive continuous improvement with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a BEng in Chemical Engineering and at least four years in process engineering within chemicals, with strong knowledge of thermodynamics, kinetics,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 4 years of process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing.
• Solid grounding in thermodynamics, kinetics and mass transfer.
• Experience with process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS) is a plus.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and process control techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement new chemical processes and optimize existing ones.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement safety improvements.
• Troubleshoot process deviations and implement corrective actions to improve yield and quality.
• Monitor process performance using SPC and other analytical tools.
• Develop and execute process validation protocols.
• Collaborate with R&D to scale up new products from lab to pilot and commercial scale.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and SOPs.
• Manage process improvement projects within time and budget.
• Ensure compliance with EHS regulations.
• Provide technical support to production team.
