Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Chemical Engineer with a Process Safety specialty for Mossel Bay. You will develop and maintain process safety systems, conduct hazard analyses, and ensure compliance with safety standards to protect personnel and facilities.

Role requires strong analytical and communication skills, experience in chemical/petrochemical environments, and proficiency in HAZOP/LOPA. The position focuses on safety culture and robust risk mitigation in a high-risk setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with safety emphasis.
• Significant experience in process safety engineering in chemical/petrochemical sectors.
• Proficiency with hazard analyses and OSHA PSM familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement process safety management programs.
• Conduct PHAs including HAZOP, LOPA and What-If studies.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes and recommend actions.
• Ensure compliance with local/international process safety regulations.
• Train plant personnel on process safety principles.
• Review designs for safety before implementation.
