Placements24 is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer for its Mossel Bay operations. The role focuses on driving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across production through process optimization and technology integration.

You will lead cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks, develop optimized layouts, and implement Lean/Six Sigma initiatives while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of industrial engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (Arena, FlexSim) and Minitab.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred).
• CAD for layout design and familiarity with production planning software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency gains.
• Develop and implement optimized production layouts, workflows, and material handling systems.
• Utilize statistical analysis and simulation tools to model process performance and predict outcomes.
• Conduct time studies, motion studies, and work sampling to establish standard times and improve ergonomics.
• Lead Lean/Six Sigma projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to drive operational excellence.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and training materials.
• Evaluate new technologies and equipment to enhance capabilities.
• Prepare reports and present findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
