Placements24 is seeking an accomplished Process Engineer for a chemical manufacturing facility in Pietermaritzburg. The role focuses on optimizing existing operations, developing new process designs, and resolving complex technical challenges to drive safety, efficiency, and quality across production.
You will collaborate with production teams and management to deliver operational excellence and innovation in chemical engineering practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a process engineering role within the chemical manufacturing industry.
- Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
- Strong understanding of process control systems and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with HAZOP studies and process safety management (PSM).
Responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize chemical processes to improve yield and quality.
- Design, develop, and implement new process equipment and control strategies.
- Conduct process simulations and pilot studies to validate designs.
- Troubleshoot deviations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and R&D teams for seamless integration.
- Develop and maintain detailed process documentation (P&IDs, SOPs, batch records).
