Placements24 is seeking a diligent Chemical Engineer to join their Process Development team in Cape Town. This role blends on-site collaboration with remote flexibility to deliver scalable, sustainable chemical processes for key product lines.

You will work with senior engineers to translate laboratory discoveries into industrial-scale operations, optimize efficiency, and ensure high-quality yields while maintaining a collaborative, safety-conscious environment in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years in chemical process development, scale-up, or manufacturing support.
• Familiarity with process design principles and unit operations.
• Experience with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize chemical processes from lab to pilot and commercial scale.
• Design and conduct experiments to study process parameters and identify improvement areas.
• Use process simulation tools to model performance and predict outcomes.
• Troubleshoot process-related issues to ensure quality and yield.
• Prepare technical reports and process documentation.
• Collaborate with equipment engineers and manufacturing teams during implementation and validation.
