Placements24 is seeking a skilled Process Design Engineer on a contract basis for a prominent petrochemical facility in Klerksdorp. You will lead the conceptualization and detailed design of new chemical processes and modifications, delivering PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specs.

The role includes process simulations, hydraulic calculations, PSM compliance, and collaboration across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 8 years of process design experience in chemical or petrochemical industries.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS or similar).
• Strong understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM).
• Experience with hydraulic calculations and equipment sizing.
• Excellent technical drawing and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and heat/material balances for new or modified processes.
• Perform process simulations to optimize designs.

About the Role

A prominent petrochemical facility in Klerksdorp is seeking a skilled Process Design Engineer on a contract basis. You will work on exciting projects involving process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), equipment specifications, and process simulations. Key Responsibilities

• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and heat and material balances for new and modified chemical processes.
