About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Chemical Process Designer to join their engineering division in Randburg . This role involves leading the conceptualization, design, and development of complex chemical processes and systems, ensuring they meet stringent technical, safety, and economic requirements. You will work on challenging projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of chemical processes from conceptual stages through to detailed engineering.
• Prepare process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
• Perform process simulations and calculations to optimize designs for efficiency and safety.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new process implementations.
• Ensure designs comply with industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in chemical process design.
• Expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, Flare).
• Strong knowledge of chemical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, mass transfer, and reaction engineering.
• Proven experience in leading design teams and managing design deliverables.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
