Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Process Design Engineer to develop and optimize manufacturing processes at their East London facility. You will conceptualize, design, and implement robust, cost-effective processes to boost efficiency and product quality, supporting new product introductions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong industrial engineering background and hands-on experience with process simulation and optimization in a demanding manufacturing environment in East London, South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Chemical Engineering (or related field).
• 3–5 years of experience in process design/engineering in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Arena, Aspen HYSYS, and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new manufacturing processes from concept to implementation.
• Analyze existing processes for efficiency, quality, and cost improvements.
• Create process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and technical docs.
• Run process simulations and pilot studies to validate designs.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Process Design Engineer to develop and optimize manufacturing processes at their facility in East London. This role is fundamental to improving operational efficiency, ensuring product quality, and supporting the introduction of new products. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and implementing robust and cost-effective manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial engineering, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience in process simulation and optimization within a demanding industrial environment in East London.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new manufacturing processes and production systems from concept to implementation.
• Analyze existing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Create process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and other technical documentation.
• Perform process simulations and pilot studies to validate designs before full-scale implementation.
