Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer for their East London production facility. The role focuses on optimizing processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring product quality on the factory floor.

You will collaborate with production, quality, and design teams to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement across operations. The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical/Industrial Engineering degree with 3–5 years in manufacturing engineering and proficiency in CAD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years in a manufacturing engineering role.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and quality.
• Develop, implement, and document new manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
• Design tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support production.
• Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with R&D on manufacturability and DFM.
• Monitor production metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance on the shop floor.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join their production facility in East London . This role is crucial for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring the quality of products. You will work closely with production teams, quality control, and design engineers to implement best practices and innovative solutions on the factory floor. We seek a hands‑on engineer dedicated to driving continuous improvement and operational excellence in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
• Develop, implement, and document new manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
• Design and implement tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support production needs.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate with R&D and design teams on product manufacturability and design for manufacturing (DFM).
• Monitor production metrics and performance, identifying areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards on the shop floor.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
• Proven experience in process optimization, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control systems.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Proficiency with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools is a plus.
