Qualifications

• Grade 12 qualification is required.
• Preferably 3 years of waiter/waitress experience.
• Basic knowledge of wine and surrounding wine regions.
• Hands-on experience with cash registers and POS systems.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong customer service orientation and active listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests at assigned tables and ensure each guest has received a menu and wine list.
• Know all menu items, including the basic ingredients and methods of preparation.
• Ensure tables are properly set with linens, silverware and glasses.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using the POS system and deliver within specified time limits.
• Ensure all orders are received timeously by the bar and kitchen staff.
• Clear all dirty cutlery and crockery from tables once guests have finished using them.
• Offer desserts and coffee to guests.
• Bill guests correctly.
• Ensure the restaurant area, fixtures and fittings are clean and hygienic.
• Ensure that your uniform is clean at all times.
