POS Cashier — Fast-Paced Customer Service

Job summary

Cashbuild is seeking a conscientious Cashier for external applications only in Northam. You will handle POS transactions, ensure goods are paid for, and deliver customer-focused service in a fast-paced retail environment.

You must have Grade 12 or 1 year of related experience, strong admin skills, and the ability to work shifts including weekends and public holidays. English and local language communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or 1 year of related work experience.
• Able to communicate in English and the dominant local language.
• Able to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Strong administration skills are required.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Balance cash (including floats) and ensure accuracy of takings.
• Identify and capture goods on the POS terminal correctly.
• Capture the correct payment type from customers at the till.
• Maintain sufficient change at all times.
• Ensure pickups are completed accurately within set parameters.
• Perform cash-ups at the end of each shift.
• Drop daily takings into the drop safe / vault.
• Process transactions related to other stores’ money, deliveries and quotes correctly.
