Job summary

P&L is seeking a Cashier to accurately handle POS transactions and related documentation, ensuring customer satisfaction. The role ensures goods are scanned and paid for, and that cash handling is precise and secure throughout shifts.

The candidate should have Grade 12 or 1 year of related experience, be able to communicate in English and the local language, perform basic calculations, and work well under pressure during shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or 1 year of work-related experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Strong administration skills required.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Balance cash, including floats and petty cash, with no shorts or overs.
• Identify and capture goods correctly on the POS terminal.
• Capture the correct payment type from customers on the POS terminal.
• Maintain sufficient change at all times.
• Ensure daily takings are dropped into the drop safe/vault.
• Process transactions for other store money, deliveries and quotes correctly.
