Job summary

P&L in Gauteng is seeking a dedicated Cashier to accurately handle Point of Sale transactions and documentation, ensuring customer satisfaction and that no goods pass through POS without payment.

The role requires Grade 12 or 1 year related experience, strong English communication, basic calculations, admin skills, and willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays. You will balance cash, operate the POS, and maintain safe cash handling.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or 1 year work related experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is available.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Must have strong administration skills.
• Must be willing to work shifts, weekends and Public Holidays.
• Must be able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Balance cash (including floats and petty cash) with no shorts or overs.
• Identify and capture goods on the Point of Sale Terminal.
• Capture the correct payment type received from customers on the POS Terminal.
• Ensure you have sufficient change at all times.
• Perform daily cash drops into the Drop Safe / vault.
• Process all transactions relating to other stores money, deliveries, and quotes correctly.
• Sign, compile, and file all related documentation relating to the Cashiers function.
• Offer fast, friendly, and efficient service to customers at check-in and check-out.
