Job summary

P&L is seeking a cashier to accurately handle POS transactions and related documentation, ensuring customer satisfaction and that no goods pass through POS without payment. The role requires excellent numerical ability, strong admin skills, and reliability for shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities include balancing cash and floats, correctly capturing payments on the POS, maintaining change, and securely dropping takings.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or 1 year related experience
• Proficient in English and local language in the area
• Able to perform basic calculations accurately
• Strong administration skills
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Able to work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Balance all cash, floats, and petty cash with no shorts or overs
• Capture goods on the POS terminal accurately
• Record the correct payment type on the POS terminal
• Maintain sufficient change at all times
• Ensure daily cash-ups are completed accurately
• Drop takings into the drop safe/vault
• Process transactions related to other stores, deliveries and quotes
• Sign, compile, and file cashier documentation
