Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a hands-on Industrial Mechanical Engineer to join a manufacturing facility in Klerksdorp. You will optimize production processes, ensure machinery runs efficiently, troubleshoot equipment, and drive continuous improvement for safety and productivity.

You will work on preventative maintenance, collaborate with production teams, and implement engineering solutions to enhance plant performance in a robust industrial region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience in industrial/manufacturing engineering.
• Proficiency diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience with CMMS is an asset.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues and equipment failures promptly.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement engineering solutions to boost productivity and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the workplace.
• Collaborate with production teams to understand needs and provide engineering support.
