Job summary
Placements24 is seeking an industrious Industrial Engineer to join the Soweto plant operations team. This on-site role focuses on optimizing daily manufacturing processes, ensuring quality and safety, and collaborating with production supervisors, quality control, and maintenance.
You will analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement lean improvements, contributing to efficient material flow and SOP documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 2–4 years of experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing support.
- Basic understanding of lean manufacturing and process improvement techniques.
- Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving.
- Familiarity with CAD software and process mapping tools is a plus.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Analyze production data and workflows to identify efficiency and cost improvement.
- Develop and implement process improvements using lean principles.
- Assist in plant layout and material flow optimization.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend actions.
- Develop and maintain SOPs and process documentation.
- Monitor performance metrics and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
