Placements24 is seeking a Plant Operations Engineer for our manufacturing facility in Durban. You will oversee day-to-day chemical processing operations, troubleshoot deviations, and drive continuous improvements to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
The role emphasizes hands-on problem-solving, collaboration with maintenance and technical teams, and adherence to safety and environmental regulations within a major industrial hub.
Qualifications
- BEng or BSc in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in chemical plant operations or process engineering.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex operational issues in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of process control systems and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and environmental regulations in the chemical industry.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
- Monitor plant performance and key operating parameters, responding promptly to any deviations.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Diagnose and resolve operational problems, working closely with maintenance and technical teams.
- Implement process improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, yield, and environmental performance.
- Participate in the development and execution of operating procedures and training programs for plant staff.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
