Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer focused on Performance Improvement to join our client in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. The role emphasizes analyzing processes, implementing data-driven solutions to optimize output, reduce waste, and improve quality, with hands-on collaboration with plant personnel.

Responsibilities include optimizing processes, driving waste reduction, and using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to sustain improvements and train staff on new procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial engineering with focus on performance and process improvement in manufacturing or processing environments.
• Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (certification is a plus).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Experience with process simulation software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for performance enhancement.
• Develop and implement strategies for process optimization, waste reduction, and cost containment.
• Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Design and model improved workflows and operational procedures.
• Collect and analyze operational data to measure performance and identify trends.
• Collaborate with production supervisors, quality control, and maintenance teams to implement and sustain improvements.
• Develop and deliver training to plant staff on new processes and best practices.
• Monitor KPIs and report on the impact of improvement initiatives.
• Conduct feasibility studies for process upgrades and new technologies.
• Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations within the plant.
