Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Metallurgist specializing in beneficiation to join a processing plant in Mossel Bay. You will analyze metallurgical test work, optimize ore beneficiation, and drive process improvements.
The role requires a degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering and at least five years of experience in metallurgical processing. You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and laboratory teams to boost recovery and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years in metallurgical processing with beneficiation focus.
- Strong understanding of mineralogy and process chemistry.
- Experience with metallurgical accounting or process simulation software is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct metallurgical test work and analyze results to optimize beneficiation.
- Develop strategies to improve mineral recovery and product quality.
- Troubleshoot processing plant issues and identify root causes.
- Monitor metallurgical performance indicators and report plant efficiency.
