Placements24 is seeking a Plant Mechanical Engineer in Sandton to oversee maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of plant machinery. You will work hands-on with equipment and collaborate with maintenance, operations and safety teams to keep operations safe and productive.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, has 5+ years in industrial plant engineering or maintenance, and is proficient with CMMS, root cause analysis, and problem solving to minimize

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in plant engineering, mechanical maintenance, or operations within an industrial environment.
• Experience with CMMS software.
• Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance, repair, and optimal functioning of all plant mechanical equipment and systems.
• Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement effective solutions.
• Conduct regular inspections of plant machinery and infrastructure to identify risks and areas for improvement.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components.
• Collaborate with the operations team to support production targets safely and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
