Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to oversee and optimize the plant's mechanical operations in Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will ensure reliability, efficiency, and safety of mechanical systems, and lead maintenance strategies.

With 5+ years of plant maintenance experience, you will manage CMMS, troubleshoot complex issues, oversee projects, and collaborate with teams to drive performance improvements and cost reductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on plant operations and maintenance.
• Proven experience with industrial machinery and maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Strong understanding of rotating equipment and power transmission.
• Excellent knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory compliance in an industrial setting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance strategies for plant machinery and equipment.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechanical failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Oversee mechanical projects, including installations, upgrades, and modifications to plant equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to mechanical operations.
• Manage the maintenance budget, spare parts inventory, and contractor activities.
