Job summary

Profession Hub is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Mpumalanga operations. The role focuses on supporting plant operations and maintenance teams with robust mechanical expertise to enhance reliability and safety.

You will oversee installation and commissioning of equipment, lead root cause analyses, and drive improvements to reduce downtime while ensuring OHASA compliance and timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (BEng / BSc or equivalent).
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Exposure to wood or board manufacturing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support to plant operations and maintenance teams.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and optimisation of mechanical equipment.
• Drive continuous improvement to improve plant performance and reduce downtime.
• Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Plan, manage, and execute engineering projects within budget and timelines.
