Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for our Randburg team. The role focuses on developing and executing preventive and predictive maintenance programs across mechanical assets, diagnosing issues, and driving continuous improvement in maintenance practices.

You will oversee installations and decommissioning, interpret drawings and P&IDs, and manage spare parts while ensuring safety standards and operational efficiency within the Gauteng region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or related field.
• Strong knowledge of rotating machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for mechanical assets.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment failures, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Oversee the installation, modification, and decommissioning of mechanical systems.
• Interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals to guide maintenance activities.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and company policies during maintenance operations.
