Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Supervisor to lead a maintenance team in Klerksdorp, North West. The role focuses on ensuring continuous operation, safety, and optimal performance of plant equipment through preventative and corrective maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years in industrial maintenance, with 2+ years in a supervisory role, and strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as an Electrician, Mechanical Fitter, or equivalent technical certification.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proven experience with a variety of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Strong understanding of preventative maintenance principles and CMMS systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in an industrial setting.
• Ability to manage budgets and control maintenance costs.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills for reporting and inventory management.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and be on standby as needed in Klerksdorp.]

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, ensuring efficient workflow.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance tasks for all plant equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, providing technical guidance to technicians.
• Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and cost-effective procurement.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the shop floor.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training and development opportunities for the maintenance team.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and generate reports on equipment status and repair history.
• Collaborate with production management to align maintenance activities with production schedules.
• Act as a point of contact for maintenance-related issues and emergency response.
