Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their operations in Klerksdorp. The role ensures reliability and optimal performance of electrical systems, leading the maintenance team and developing proactive strategies to prevent failures.

You will diagnose complex faults, manage repairs, and ensure safety while collaborating with engineering and production to deliver improvements and upgrades. A Bachelor's degree and 6+ years in industry are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 6+ years of electrical maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems including PLCs, MCCs and HV equipment.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques and CMMS software.
• Leadership experience with the ability to motivate a technical team.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement electrical maintenance programs including preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Oversee diagnosis and repair of electrical equipment failures to minimize downtime.
• Lead and mentor the electrical maintenance team with technical guidance and performance feedback.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies and electrical codes.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance and spare parts inventory.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify improvements and upgrades.
