Job summary

Placements24 in Pretoria is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Supervisor to lead a maintenance team and optimize daily operations of the maintenance department.

You will manage maintenance schedules, troubleshoot equipment failures, mentor technicians, implement preventive programs, ensure safety compliance, and drive reliability across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems within the installation & maintenance sector.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role in industrial maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with CMMS and ability to read and interpret complex drawings and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
• Oversee the repair of industrial machinery, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement of necessary components.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the maintenance department.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to identify hazards or maintenance needs.
• Train and mentor junior technicians, fostering skill development and knowledge transfer.
