Placements24 in Upington, South Africa, seeks a Pharmaceutical Process Engineer to join our on-site manufacturing operations. You will design, optimize, and troubleshoot processes to ensure compliant, efficient production of pharmaceutical products, contributing to process validation, continuous improvement initiatives, and implementation of new technologies.

The role requires collaboration with R&D, QA, and Operations to support product introductions, maintain GMP standards, and ensure safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering in pharma/biopharma.
• Experience with process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and regulatory compliance (FDA/EMA/SAHPRA).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management abilities.
• Proficient in process simulation and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize pharmaceutical manufacturing processes for scalability and robustness.
• Lead process validation activities, including protocol development and reporting.
• Troubleshoot deviations and equipment issues, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, yield, and product quality.
• Develop SOPs and technical docs related to manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with R&D, QA, and Operations for new product introductions and changes.
