Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Process Development Engineer to enhance pharmaceutical manufacturing operations in Bloemfontein. This role focuses on optimizing existing processes and developing robust new ones to ensure efficient, high-quality production.

You will scale up lab processes to pilot and commercial scale, troubleshoot production issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with engineering, QA, and production teams to ensure compliance with cGMP and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 4+ years in process development or chemical engineering in pharma.
• Experience in process scale-up, validation, and optimization.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical unit operations and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP and process safety.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and scale-up pharmaceutical manufacturing processes from lab to commercial production.
• Design and execute experiments to improve process efficiency, yield, and product quality.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Prepare process development reports, batch records, and technology transfer documentation.
• Ensure all process development activities comply with cGMP regulations and safety standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to implement process changes.
