Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Process Development Scientist to join the Richards Bay team, focusing on developing, optimizing, and scaling up pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in process development in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Hands-on experience with scale-up and technology transfer of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
• Strong understanding of process chemistry, reaction kinetics, and separation technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and familiarity with SPC and DoE (Design of Experiments).

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to develop and optimize scalable manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical products.
• Investigate and troubleshoot process deviations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Perform process validation activities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on technology transfer and scale-up activities from lab to pilot and commercial scale.
• Document all experimental procedures, results, and process parameters meticulously in technical reports.
