Job summary

CFS Recruitment seeks a Personal Lines Underwriter in Bedfordview, Gauteng. This mid-career role (2–4 years) is permanent and reports to the Underwriting Manager. You will handle endorsements, renewals, broker queries, and risk assessments to preserve client relationships.

You will also process quotes, manage diaries, and ensure timely, accurate actions on broker requests within SLAs. A strong policy wording background and ST Insurance qualifications are essential.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Exposure to TIAL Operating System is highly advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of short-term insurance policy wording.

Responsibilities

• Endorsements/ Amendments on existing policies.
• Perform broker productivity on all brokers with outsourced/ binder agreements.
• Attending to all Broker queries within prescribed SLAs and turn-around times.
• Action Renewals (monthly/ annually).
• Requesting VAR Surveys on new business and/or existing business upon renewal stage and consider all relevant Risk Requirements.
• Processing Corrective action based on claims history.
• Process cancellations in accordance with internal operating procedures and time frames.
• Retaining business wherever there is a risk of losing a client.
• Providing quotes on existing policies upon a broker's request for the addition/ removal of an item/ asset.
• Disciplined management of daily diary system.
