Job summary

adidas Group is seeking a motivated Retail Sales Associate in Johannesburg to deliver exceptional customer service and assist with daily store operations. You will handle sales, stock flow, merchandising, and loss prevention while maintaining a clean, organized store environment.

The role requires matric or equivalent and 0–1 year in retail; flexibility for shifts including evenings and weekends is preferred, with training provided to enhance product knowledge.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate and zero to one year of retail experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are required.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced retail environment and during evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide Adidas level of service to every customer.
• Process sales transactions accurately (cash, credit, etc.).
• Assist with product stocking, ticketing, and receipt paperwork.
• Support product flow from stockroom to sales floor as needed.
• Contribute to visual merchandising and displays per store guidance.
• Achieve selling targets using effective techniques and product knowledge.
• Greet customers and assist them in finding the right product; front-door greeting during busy times.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safekeeping of assets; assist in loss prevention.
• Participate in in-store and digital training to improve product knowledge.
• Familiarize yourself with store data tools to understand performance.

PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION:

Assist management in day-to-day store maintenance while providing excellent service and observing and maintaining all store policies and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures the highest level of adidas service is given to each customer.
• As needed, completes any regular sales transactions involving cash, credit, checks, etc.
• Involved indirectly with ticketing of products as well as checking paperwork against items received.
• Assists in product flow from stockroom to sales floor on afill-inbasis.
• Assists in the development of displays of merchandise or follow suggestions or schedules provided by the store management team.
• Attain proficiency with the point-of-sale system by acquiring system utilization skills. Ensure integrity is maintained through attention to policy and procedure.
• Uses selling techniques such as add on sales and describing technical information to customers to enhance salesmanship and reach store and position sales goals.
• Greets customers in the store and assists them in finding the right product. Occasionally, serves primarily as a Greeter at the front door during busy workdays.
• Maintaining general housekeeping standards(Including cleaning of thestore)
• Safekeeping of Company assets
• Loss prevention, monitoring sales floor and reportingany suspicious activity and follow security procedures/ SLAP.
• Ensure they take part inin-storetrainingor digitaltrainingprovided by the company (Atticus/AREA) to ensure they have product knowledge and role best practice.
• Familiarize themselves with Power BI tools to have more understanding of store performance,bestsellers / blackholeproduct.
