Job summary

Sporty Group is seeking a dynamic People Operations Partner to join our Cape Town team. You will lead end-to-end employee lifecycle, payroll in South Africa, and cross-geoPeople initiatives, partnering with regional and international teams to drive consistent People practices.

You will advise managers on HR matters, support employee relations, and ensure compliance with POPIA and local regulations. This role is based in Cape Town, with opportunities to support global teams as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in HR, business, or related field.
• 4+ years in People Operations, HR Generalist, or People Partnering roles.
• Experience owning and completing monthly payroll in SA with compliance.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding and day-to-day People support.
• Act as People Operations Partner to managers, providing practical, commercially minded People advice.
• Partner with managers to identify People-related risks and translate into People solutions.
• Provide cross-geo People Operations support across the organisation as needed.
• Develop and deliver People strategies aligned with SA objectives.
• Own the SA monthly payroll process with Finance and stakeholders.
• Produce and maintain monthly HR reporting with key metrics.
• Maintain HRIS and employee records compliant with POPIA and local laws.
• Be the first point of contact for HR matters in SA and Cape Town office.
• Manage employee relations and support disciplinary processes in SA.
