Job summary

Boardroom Appointments in Pretoria West is seeking an experienced payroll professional to manage the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely monthly payrolls, while collaborating with HR to improve processes.

The role reports to the Payroll Controller and covers end-to-end payroll processing, including earnings, deductions, payslips, POPIA compliance, and preparation of payroll reports for management.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting (Degree or Diploma) required.
• At least 3 years' payroll experience, including handling 1000+ employees.
• SAP experience preferred; working knowledge of payroll tax and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end payroll processing.
• Process the Monthly Bargaining and Non-Bargaining Unit payrolls.
• Calculate earnings, employer contributions, deductions and reconcile payments.
• Ensure payslips are produced accurately and distributed to staff.
• Ensure input is recorded and filed in terms of POPIA.
• Prepare payroll reports for management as required.
• Liaise with staff and management on payroll queries.
• Handle tax directives and IRP5/IT3(A) certificates where needed.
• Reconcile month-end third-party payments.

Job description

The rolewill be based in Pretoria West and report to the Payroll Controller. The successful incumbent will beresponsible for effectively managing the Payroll function and generating accurate and timely monthlypayrolls. They will also need to work with HR and other departments to improve payroll processes andprovide analysis of corporate payroll-related statistics.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Payroll control
• Receive and review information received for completeness, accuracy, and authorization.
• Process the Monthly Bargaining and Non-Bargaining Unit payrolls
• Ensures that Earnings, Employer Contributions, Statutory and Voluntary deductions have been accuratelycalculated, and accounted for.
• Ensure that any correspondence relating to the payroll is properly actioned and filed.
• Manage the end-to-end processing of the payroll.
• Liaise with staff and management on payroll-related queries.
• Interpret awards/agreements and contracts concerning overtime, shift allowances, etc.
• Calculate and process termination payments.
• Processing increases and calculation of back pay.
• Responsible for the reconciliation of month-end third-party payments.
• Ensure that payslips are produced accurately and distributed to staff.
• Ensure that all input is properly recorded and filed in terms of POPIA.
• Manage the request and processing of tax directives.
• Manage and control the issuing of IRP5/IT3(A) certificates.
• Provide Payroll Reports as and when required by Business.

Qualifications and experience:

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting (Degree/ Diploma)
• 3 years experience in a payroll function
• Must have experience working with a large payroll (1000+)
• 1 year SAP experience (preferable)
• hey must have worked on aspects such as overtime, nightshift, commissions, allowances, garnishees etc
• SAP experience is advantageous (not mandatory)
