You will handle employee data, PAYE, UIF, SDL, payroll reporting, and assist with audits, staying abreast of regulatory changes. This full-time role offers stability and career progression at our client’s head office in Benoni.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Accounting, Payroll Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of payroll processing and accounting experience.
• In-depth knowledge of South African payroll legislation (PAYE, UIF, SDL).
• Proficiency in payroll software (VIP Payroll, Sage) and strong MS Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and efficiently on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Ensure compliance with PAYE, UIF, SDL, and other statutory deductions.
• Manage employee data: new hires, terminations, changes to personal details or salary.
• Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, including gross-to-net calculations and cost allocations.

About the Role

Our client, a well-established retail group with operations across Benoni, Gauteng , is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Payroll Accountant to manage their comprehensive payroll function. This role is critical in ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time, in compliance with South African labour laws and tax regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of payroll processes, statutory requirements, and possess excellent data management skills.
