Job summary

The Weir Group is seeking a Crane Operator in Port Elizabeth to operate crane-equipped machines, load and unload parts safely, and support machinists with setup and maintenance. You will follow strict safety procedures, wear required PPE, and contribute to a culture of zero-harm while delivering quality outcomes.

Onsite role with a focus on reliable equipment operation, accurate handling of parts, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) is required.
• Previous experience as a crane operator is required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines/equipment according to safe work instructions.
• Load and unload parts on/off machine centers with an overhead crane.
• Deburr and clean parts; remove swarf and keep work area tidy.
• Assist machinist with clamping/unclamping and machine maintenance.
• Adhere to PPE rules and safety procedures; uphold zero-harm culture.
